Since the first Balsam trees were planted eleven years ago, I have enjoyed watching little trees grow into larger ones. It amazed me in the early years how much they would grow from year to year. The first few winters, the little trees were barely visible through the snow. Just the little tops could be seen. As years went on, more and more of the trunk could be seen and now a whole tree can still be seen even after a blizzard!
Expanding the crops grown on the farm has been on my mind for a few years. Finally, this fall, we took the step and planted some apple trees. I am excited to begin watching the growth of this new crop and hope to produce some apple products down the road.
